USB to RS485 Industrial Communication Cable

This industrial-grade USB to RS485 communication cable is designed for reliable serial data transmission in industrial field scenarios, adding a native RS485 serial port to modern laptops and desktops without legacy serial interfaces. It is widely used in PLC programming and debugging, industrial automation data acquisition, Modbus device communication, access control systems, security surveillance, building automation, smart instruments and IoT terminal applications.

It adopts a genuine FTDI FT232 high-performance main control chip paired with an industrial-grade RS485 transceiver, supporting a wide baud rate range from 300bps to 256Kbps with half-duplex communication mode. The maximum point-to-point transmission distance reaches 1200 meters at 9600bps, and it supports up to 32 nodes on a single bus, meeting the requirements of distributed industrial communication networks.

Built with 15kV ESD electrostatic protection and TVS lightning surge protection circuit, it effectively resists electrostatic shock and instantaneous surge voltage in industrial sites, protecting both the host and connected devices. The optional opto-isolated version achieves complete electrical isolation between the USB side and RS485 side, eliminating ground loop interference and greatly improving communication stability in complex electromagnetic environments.

The cable uses tinned copper conductors with overall aluminum foil shielding to suppress EMI/RFI electromagnetic interference and ensure stable signal transmission over long distances. The gold-plated contact points provide oxidation resistance and long plugging life, and the molded strain relief structure enhances bending resistance, suitable for frequent plugging and mobile use in industrial sites.

It is fully compatible with Windows 7/8/10/11, Windows Server, macOS, Linux and Android systems. Most mainstream operating systems support automatic driver installation and true plug-and-play. It features fixed COM port number retention, avoiding repeated configuration of industrial control software, and works seamlessly with all common configuration software and Modbus debugging tools.
