AC Bare-End Power Adapter Pigtail Lead Wire

This AC bare-end power adapter pigtail lead wire is a practical AC power connection solution for repairing damaged power adapters, modifying equipment power cords, and building custom power supply units. It provides a flexible way to replace a faulty AC input cord without replacing the entire adapter or power supply. It is widely used in electronic repair shops, industrial maintenance, DIY projects and equipment assembly.

The cable features a standard AC power plug on one end and stripped, tinned wire leads on the other end. The stripped ends allow users to solder the cable directly to a power supply board, connect it to a terminal block, or crimp it to a connector. This makes it suitable for custom power input applications where a pre-terminated cord cannot meet the required wiring length, termination method or equipment compatibility.

The 2-core version is commonly used for double-insulated AC power adapters and devices requiring live and neutral connections. Users should select the appropriate core count based on the equipment’s original wiring, safety requirements and local electrical codes.

Conductors are available in 18AWG and 16AWG options. The 18AWG version is suitable for general-purpose adapters and shorter wiring runs. The 16AWG version offers higher current capacity and lower heat generation, making it suitable for higher-power adapters, longer cords and industrial power supply applications. Both versions are designed for AC power input wiring and should be installed according to local electrical regulations.

The outer jacket is made of flexible PVC material with good insulation properties and abrasion resistance. The plug end is fully molded with strain relief to reduce bending stress at the cable root and prevent internal wire breakage caused by frequent plugging, pulling and installation movement. The opposite end is stripped and tinned to prevent copper wire fraying and enable cleaner, more reliable solder or crimp connections.
